Sulnox Eco Cuts Fuel Use and Emissions in Generator Test

Case Study

Sulnox Eco Cuts Fuel Use and Emissions in Generator Test

To demonstrate the impact of Sulnox Eco in a controlled generator setup, a single 100kVA diesel generator was operated at a steady 80% load over five weeks, using EN590 diesel. The goal was to measure changes in fuel consumption and emissions with Sulnox Eco under consistent conditions.

Taking place on-site in Cardiff, UK, the evaluation was independently conducted and monitored by three separate organisations:

  • Templant Rental Power: UK generator supplier - provided 100kVA soundproof diesel generator and monitored fuel consumption.

  • Socotec: Emissions monitoring specialists - ran baseline, 1-hour, and 5-week emissions tests.

  • Minton, Treharne & Davies Group: Third-party evaluation host: managed safe, independent generator operation.

The results were as follows:

  • 14.5
    %
    peak fuel savings
  • >96
    %
    particulate matter reduction
  • 26
    %
    CO₂ reduction

Alongside a 63% reduction in SOx, 14% in NOx, and 7% in CO.

These numbers are very impressive, clearly demonstrating Sulnox Eco effectiveness in reducing fuel consumption and emissions. It’s a compelling, instantly deployable solution for clients focused on air quality, with the added benefit of extending engine life.
